Felony charges are divided into 5 classes. The most serious charge is a Class X felony, which has a prison sentence between 6 to 30 years. A Class 1 felony holds a prison sentence of 4 to 15 years, a Class 2 felony from 3 to 7 years, a Class 3 felony between 2 and 5 years, and a Class 4 felony between 1 to 3 years. Additional prison time may be added on depending on your criminal background.
